Questions:
- Consider some of the reflection questions embedded in the training. For example, what do you notice about the data and how it could be mapped? What do you notice about your visualization as you change its drawing style and customize its appearance?
- How would you feel about helping someone else learn how to use ArcGIS Online? What did you find most interesting? What did you find most frustrating? What questions do you still have, and what parts of the tool do you want to explore more deeply?
Answer:
There’s multiple possibilities of how the data could be mapped, as well as labeled. Changing the style of the map redirects the viewer’s attention to different points. When that happens, it’s good to be intentional about it. I would feel good about helping someone else learn ArcGIS. The interface is pretty intuitive and the functionalities are easy to understand. I found it interesting how customizable the maps in ArcGIS are. It made me want to create some maps myself (maybe about sharks or poetry book sales data). I found it frustrating when there was a bug and points appeared in weird places. I want to know about how ArcGIS compares to other similar software, its advantages and disadvantages.
