I would love helping someone else learn how to use Gale Digital Scholar Lab! Textual analysis was my entry point into the digital humanities, so I’d be glad to pass this knowledge along.

I found it interesting and super helpful that there is a “Clean” page that lets you prepare the document for analysis. In my digital literature class, we talked a lot about the importance of preprocessing and data cleaning.

I found searching for documents on the Gale website a bit frustrating. It wasn’t clear to me how the search results were selected. And a lot of them didn’t have transcriptions so I would click on them and realize I couldn’t analyze them.

I have questions about what others use this website most often for. I wonder what kind of scholarly work was made possible because of this tool. I want to explore the “Topic Modeling” feature more deeply.
