Weekly Training: Reflection #7 – WeVideo

Question:

In a blog post on your portfolio site, reflect on the experience of learning how to use WeVideo for video editing. How would you feel about helping someone else learn how to use it? What did you find most interesting? What did you find most frustrating? What questions do you still have, and what parts of the tool do you want to explore more deeply?

Answer:

I would feel comfortable helping someone else learning. I’ve been toying around with video editors since I was nine, because me and my sister loved editing images and videos. I made some silly videos in iMovie with my friends from middle school that were so fun to make. WeVideo seems to be quite similar to other video editors, so that’s nice. What I found the most frustrating was adding text to the video sections. It was a bit clunky and counterintuitive. What I want to explore more deeply are the transitions. I feel like they can be done more naturally, but I haven’t quite figured out how. Here’s the practice video I made using copyright-free videos from Pixabay:
